My real name is Janne Pitkänen and my story began in 1999, when I first picked up the saxophone. Little did I know then that that instrument would accompany me throughout my life – as a friend, a means of expression and ultimately a gateway to something much greater.
Music has always been a way for me to tell stories without words. Even at a young age, I noticed how melodies can paint moods and convey feelings that cannot be explained. Ballads, sensitivity and freezing moments have been a part of me from the beginning.
Life later took me to Spain – and there, in the rhythm of the sun, the sea and the streets at night, I discovered something new. EDM (Electronic Dance Music). That world took me with it: its energy, community and boundless freedom inspired me to combine the electronic beat with the organic, breathing sound of the saxophone.
From the meeting of these two worlds, JaySax was born. It is not just a name, but the story of a journey.
Every performance is a new chapter in that story for me, an invitation for the listener to stop, breathe and feel.
